Packaged Living are pleased to have submitted a planning application for a major new public square and BTR homes at Heyrod Street, Piccadilly East, Manchester.

The application proposes 352 new rental homes comprising studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments alongside fantastic amenity, retail and commercial space opening onto the square and new public realm.  The proposal has been designed to meet the pressing need for new homes within Manchester City Centre and will help to enhance the quality of life for the growing population in the area.  The mixed-use focus of the proposals will also support new jobs for the area and provide vital investment at an important time.

As with all Packaged Living schemes environmental and social values are at the heart of the design.  The proposals select sustainable materials to reduce embodied carbon and focus on residents’ well being through social amenity spaces, active living and cycling.  This includes three attractive roof gardens, a residents’ lounge, a gym and bike repair workshop.

Plans for the development form part of the Portugal Street East regeneration area.  The area already includes the successful Crusader Works by Capital & Centric, the Leonardo Hotel by the same developer and two further sites by others coming forward.  The public realm plans, which will be delivered by the on-site developers, were approved by Manchester City Council in August 2019.

Subject to planning, works will commence in early 2021.
