A topping out ceremony has been held at Cadent’s new 90,000 sq ft facility at Prospero Ansty Park. The bespoke office is being developed by Manse Opus on behalf of Cadent Gas and will be ready for occupation early in 2022. The development, which is currently being constructed by McLaren, has been funded by the Lime Property Fund, managed by Aviva Investors, and will Cadent to bring a number of its functions under one roof by relocating colleagues across from Hinckley, Coventry and Leicester.

CONSTRUCTION work is under way on a new industrial unit at Olney Park, a new development of industrial units, retail and later living accommodation. The former Toys R Us site on Western Esplanade, which shut down in 2018 following the chain’s collapse, has been sold to firm Packaged Living and Fiera Real Estate. It says the site will make up a “key development” within the upcoming Mayflower Quarter masterplan.

A derelict city centre Toys R Us site has been sold to a developer which specialises in high-rise apartments. Fiera Real Estate and Packaged Living said its scheme would "meet the pressing need for new homes" in central Southampton. It said it would also build new offices, retail space and a hotel. Southampton City Council, which previously pledged £27m towards a new office block on the site, has been approached for comment.
