David is a chartered surveyor, with 30 years experience in the commercial property market.

He successfully ran Manse Investments Ltd from 2006 until February 2009, previous to which, he was a main board director of Kilmartin Property Group, a director of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, an associate director at ING Real Estate and did his training with St Quintin Chartered Surveyors.

Colin qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1993. Having initially spent seven years acting as an agent and valuer throughout Scotland and northern England with both Ryden and Montagu Evans, his focus on planning and development work began through his role as Development Manager for Waterfront Edinburgh Ltd.

Subsequently he became Development Director at Quartermile Edinburgh where, over an eight year period, he was responsible for the planning and delivery of this highly complex and award-winning development.

Between 2009 and summer 2013, Colin was Development Director for Newcastle Science Central where on behalf of Newcastle University and City Council he led the team responsible for redeveloping the 20 acre site of the former Tyne Brewery into a highly sustainable mixed-use new quarter.

David is a general practice surveyor with 12 years of experience within the commercial and residential property markets.

He started his property career as an agency surveyor with Reith Lambert. Specialising in capital markets, he advised a wide range of institutional and private clients.

Following deals with Ediston Real Estate, he moved client side to Ediston to manage the Clydebuilt LP portfolio (Strathclyde Pension Fund). This comprised £110m of properties across various commercial asset classes.

Most recently, David spent 3 years working as a land manager in the residential sector for Keepmoat and Carmichael Homes, delivering multiple sites for a mixture of private and affordable housing.

David has an active life outside work involving his young family and numerous outdoor pursuits, in particular football and winter sports.
