The UK division has had a very busy year despite the disruptions. It has realised over £244million from asset sales, submitted planning for over 730 units and has developed over 400,000 sq. ft of new Grade A space around the UK. In January, the UK division rebranded from Palmer Capital and moved to the new London office of its majority owner Fiera Capital, a leading multi-product investment-management firm with more than USD133billion of AUM. The £760million investment manager, founded by Ray Palmer in 1992, became the UK arm of Fiera Real Estate to create a new global real estate offering. Working closely with the Canadian division, the UK team continues to pursue its mission to build a best in class global real estate investment management platform and to better serve its growing international client base.
In the UK, FRE operates a barbell approach to investing with strategies focussed on core long income (wealth preservation) and opportunistic development/asset management (wealth creation). This is represented in the two vehicles currently open to investment being The Fiera Real Estate Long Income Fund “FRELIF” and the Fiera Real Estate Opportunity Fund V “FREOF V”. The Fiera Real Estate Opportunity Fund V (UK) launched in November 2019 and is the fifth fund in its programmatic venture series with CBRE Global Investment Partners which has invested over £600million. Since its launch the Fund has started to build a portfolio of residential, logistics and office developments across the country. On the opposite end of the risk spectrum, The Fiera Real Estate Long Income Fund “FRELIF”, is a c. £200m unlevered open-ended long income fund with a portfolio of 29 high class assets diversified by sector and geography. This vehicle is focused on providing investors with long, strong and progressive income streams.
Both funds benefit from Fiera Real Estate’s pan UK vertically integrated business model comprising 10 regional property company’s located across all of the UK’s major cities and conurbations. This platform provides investors with a consistent access to proprietary and off market deal flow across the UK.
