This month will see the return of popular sporting event, the Colworth Marathon Challenge. The fundraising initiative invites keen runners to the village of Sharnbrook to take part in three races throughout the grounds of Colworth Park and beyond.
On 24, 25, 26 June, runners will take part in three competitive races, which once added up equal to the full distance of a marathon. The event is organised by Colworth Str1ders; a local sports group made up of runners, cyclists, swimmers, kayakers, and orienteers.
The races, which take place on three consecutive days, consist of a 5-mile run, an 8.1-mile trail race, and a half marathon. Runners can opt to enter races in any combination – i.e. you may enter one, two or all three.
A group of Colworth Park staff and tenants will be taking part again this year – some opting for singular races and a couple of the braver few taking on all three!
Keith Purdie, Business Development Manager, said:
“We’re exciting to see this popular event return again this year – it’s a fantastic initiative that encourages residents to get active, challenge themselves and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.”
“It’s great to see some representatives from the park get involved again this year. Best of luck to everyone taking part!
As well as the three main races, there will be children’s races and under-16s fun run – participants will be able to sign up for these on the day.
