Fiera Real Estate awarded 5 stars on the Principles for Responsible Investment Survey

Fiera Real Estate has taken many steps in its environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) journey to position itself as a leader in ESG integration, while providing investors with increased income and capital appreciation through portfolio performance. We are pleased to start the new year by announcing that we have achieved a remarkable 5 stars in the most recent Principle for Responsible Investment (“PRI”) survey.

As the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment, PRI’s six Principles for Responsible Investment offer a menu of possible actions for incorporating ESG issues into investment practice. Operating with its international network of signatories to put the six principles into practice, its goals are to understand the investment implications of ESG factors and to support signatories in integrating these issues into their investment and ownership decisions.

Founded in 2005, PRI encourages investors to use responsible investment to enhance returns and better manage risks. In implementing the six principles, signatories contribute to developing a more sustainable global financial system.

This score is the highest the organization has achieved to date and reflects the collective efforts of every department within our organization in ESG concerns.

The results follow an increase in Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) scores for all of Fiera Real Estate’s participating funds and are made possible through the enhanced due diligence and risk management strategies Fiera Real Estate has implemented to ensure it operates in a responsible manner.

Jessica Pilz, Head of Sustainable Investing, Private Markets commented “These stellar results are testament to the commitment shown toward sustainable investing across the whole of Fiera Real Estate. Without dedicated top-down commitment, a sustainable investing strategy is only good on paper. We place ESG considerations at the heart of everything we do, and so we are delighted that this has been reflected in our 2023 PRI scores”.
